The Department of Special Education in Autism Center SOS has as purpose the individualized support of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities.
Its main goal is the evaluation of every person, in order that an individualized intervention program would be designed and implemented for his improvement in all the areas of learning.
In parallel, short-term and long-term goals are set and continuously revised, based on every individual’s needs, arisen from his constant evaluation.
The therapeutic methods that are used in the Autism Center SOS are:
- ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
- PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
- TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children) and
- Group programs
